The Department of Internal Medicine has the following resources:
One large-sized Audio-Visual Seminar Room in common use with other departments.
A Clinical Skills Stimulation Center in collaboration with the Medical Education Department.
Two well equipped laboratory units for research.
Three full time research staff and two grant funded temporarily appointed research
The lab features a large facility capable of analyzing a variety of hormones utilizing
Immunoassay (IA) and Enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) techniques. An automated laboratory
capable of measuring most routine substrates and clinical enzymes utilizing an Integra
400 plus and e411 immunochemistry analyzer from Roche. The lab is having capability
of performing Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and analyzing most cytokines, tissue
markers using an ELx800 Micro plate Reader. The sample processing core provides standard
refrigerated centrifugation, freezer storage options to –70°, computerized labeling,
and assistance with sample packaging for shipping.
