The Department of Nutrition and Health is the only department in the country that offers dedicated undergraduate and graduate programs in food science and nutrition. The Department is one of the region’s leading academic units devoted to the study of human nutrition, dietetics, and food science aiming to provide high quality education to undergraduate and postgraduate students in food science and nutrition.
The Department has several laboratories that are used for teaching, research, training, and other purposes. The laboratories contain a broad range of instruments for biomedical, biochemical, hematological and anthropometric analysis, food chemistry, food physics, food microbiology, food preparation, food sensory analysis evaluation, and a pilot plant.
